Hi 👋🏼 we’re tbh. Born out of Stanford University, we seek to provide holistic services to meet students and schools where they are at. To date, we’ve served dozens of college and district partners, and have raised money from leading institutional VC’s—including early investors in companies like Twilio, Carta, Coinbase, Shippo, and Lyft. We’re also supported by leaders in equity like Mayor Michael Tubbs. At the heart of our services, we believe students deserve access to comprehensive and easy-to-access support for their academic and personal success. Together, we believe we can make a change and support our next generation.

At tbh, our mission is to end the youth mental health crisis and help students thrive in school. We believe that meeting students where they are at through preventative, personalized, student-centered care is the key to ending the youth mental health crisis and changing the landscape of health outcomes and health equity for our students.

The single greatest health concern facing American kids and teens today is a crisis in mental health. The data backs this up: the number of kids and young adults with clinical depression has doubled since 2010. With nearly one in five adolescents having a mental, emotional, developmental or behavioral disorder, there is an urgent need for better support services for our students. The situation is so dire that the US Surgeon General has called youth mental health the defining public health crisis of our time.

tbh was founded on a very personal story. The founder witnessed a close friend struggling with their mental health, while he was a graduate student at Stanford. He was met with care providers who understood little of his background (low income and latinx). tbh was born out of a desire to change mental health for the next generation. Our mission is to support the next generation so no one ever has to face their struggles alone.

Students needs are not a one-size-fits all. That is why we focus on the whole person — providing mental health, basic needs and academic supports. We treat each person as an individual — providing them with the support they need.

<aside> <img src="/icons/heart_yellow.svg" alt="/icons/heart_yellow.svg" width="40px" /> Mental Health Support: We offer students access to group support, 1:1 coaching, therapy and on-demand 24/7 support along with a wide library of resources.

<aside> <img src="/icons/home_yellow.svg" alt="/icons/home_yellow.svg" width="40px" /> Basic Needs: We recognize that students have needs outside the classroom and that having a lack of access to basic needs such as food, housing, and the internet can impact their academic and personal success as well as their mental health. Our basic needs team can help students and support the staff as they navigate eligibility of resources.
